Applications:
- Enables the determination of liquid limit of soil to be performed simply and quickly. The unit is supplied complete with a stainless steel penetration test cone 35mm long with a smooth polished surface and an angle of 30°.
Brief Construction Details:
- The apparatus consists of a cast aluminum base with a steel chrome plated stand on which moves an aluminum arm.
- A 6" dial is fixed on this arm and a brass chromium plated rod slide through the lower portion of the arm.
- The dial is graduated from 0 - 400 in 1/10th millimeter sub division.
- A metallic test cone - (35mm long and having smooth polished surface and at an angle of 30°), is fixed at the end of a metallic rod, with a disc at the top of the rod so as to have a total sliding weight of 80 ± 0.5 gms.
- The total rod will pass through two guides (to ensure vertical movement) fixed to a stand.
- The base of the unit is fitted with the adjustable platform which can be lifted up/down according to user requirement.
- Also, arm of the instrument is fitted with adjustable mechanism in order to precisely arrange the cone tip on the sample surface.
- Height adjustment Rapid, using integral clamping mechanism
- Instrument is having electrical arrangement to release the cone automatically on press of the button and DIGITAL timer to digitally control penetration duration.
