Sieve Segregation Test Set - Is 1199 (part 6)

Sieve Segregation Test Set - Is 1199 (part 6)

Model Number : CT-SCC-007

The Sieve Segregation Test, also known as the Set-Stability Test, is used to evaluate the segregation resistance of self-compacting concrete (SCC). This test helps determine the uniformity of SCC by assessing its ability to maintain homogeneity and resist segregation, which is critical to ensure the quality and performance of the concrete. As per IS 1199 (Part 6) : 2018, EN 12350-11: Testing fresh concrete – Part 11: EFNARC Guidelines for Self-Compacting Concrete.

Purpose of the Test:
  • The primary purpose of the Sieve Segregation Test is to assess the stability of SCC, particularly:
  • Segregation Resistance: To ensure that the coarse aggregate does not separate from the mix, which could weaken the structure.
  • Uniformity: To verify that the concrete mix remains homogenous, ensuring consistent strength and durability.
Description:
  • Consist of perforated plate sieve with square holes of 5 mm, frame dia 300 mm and height of about 40 mm. With Pan of the same dia and depth to retain the materials passing through the sieve. The fitting of Pan and sieve will be such that, the sieve can be removed smoothly without forcing extra material passing through sieve. The collecting bucket made of Mild steel, having ID of about 300 mm and capacity of about 10-12 ltrs. with suitable lid. The Electronic Balance will be with digital display having 10 kg capacity with 0.5 gm accuracy. The balance will have tare facility and auto zero tracking.

As per IS 1199 (Part 6) : 2018, EN 12350-11: Testing fresh concrete – Part 11: EFNARC Guidelines for Self-Compacting Concrete.
